Ban The Bang

Durbanites converge on Pirates Beach to demo against loud fireworks
Ban The Bang are gathering from 10am to 12pm on Saturday 3rd February on the Durban Beach Front to demonstrate against loud explosive fireworks.
The event is intended to highlight the issues around wide-spread loud fireworks, particularly the drastic affect on sensitive people and animals.
It is the culmination of a lot of effort from animal rescue groups and firework ban initiatives who have nearly 6000 supporters in the group and a good turn out is expected on the day.
A petition will be presented by Judy van der Westhuizen (Khetani Animal Rescue) who is the chairperson of the demonstration.
The bang is the issue but the solution is a controlled display….
A stage area at Pirates Beach will accommodate speeches by invited personalities and organisations throughout the day, with various demonstrations by rescue services as well as a solidarity walk to engage spectators and bring awareness.
