DUrbanTV Easter Festival of Chariots abides by #SALockdown

Whilst this year’s Festival of Chariots event traditionally held during the Easter period along Durban’s Golden Mile has had to be postponed due to #Coronavirus across the world, Durbanites can reminisce through DurbanTV‘s coverage of previous years, inspiring everyone to look forward to the event which will take place later in the year.

Traditionally three chariots are pulled along Durban’s iconic beachfront every Easter weekend symbolising the epic Jagannath Ratha Yatra journey which originated in the city of Jagannatha Puri in India. People of all cultures are encouraged to pull the chariot to experience the vibrant colour, happiness and unity of the event.

Don’t let the #SALockdown prevent you from enjoying the spectacle of the colourful Krishna Festival of Chariots.
